Apply to be an AASHO Officer
The Asian American Student Housing Organization is electing new officers for next year, 2008-2009. If you are interested in
getting involved in the Asian American community and want to represent the new and quickly growing organization, here's your
chance. As and AASHO officer, you have the chance to organize the customary AASHO events, such as sushi nights, sweets nights,
Asian game nights, karaoke competitions, ramen eating contests, as well as the annual AASHO 6-flags and Chinatown trips, as
well as given the chance to come up with new events to add to the list.
Annual Chinatown Trip: All Day 4/12
This year's Chinatown trip will be held on Saturday, April 12th and we've taken your comments into consideration, and decided
to throw out the Chinatown museum tour. Instead, for $15 you'll be bussed to Chinatown, fed a 9 course dinner at Lee Wing
Wah Restaurant, and given special into the Field Museum and 'Discoveries of China' Special Exhibit. So tell your friends to
come, it's first come first serve with only a limited amount of space, with priority given to students in the dorms first.
To sign up, come to one of these following locations:
Monday March 31st, ISR Townsend Lounge A, 7-9pm
Tuesday April 1st, PAR Front Lounge/Open Area, 7-9pm
Wednesday April 2nd, Snyder Open Lounge, 6-8pm
You'll need these
1. $15 cash or check (payable to Univ. of Ill.)
2. Travel Form (will be provided)
3. Chinatown Trip Info Form (will be provided)

Sushi Nights! 3/11 ISR, FAR, 3/12 Snyder
It's sushi night again! Don't miss out on this event where you'll get to make your own sushi, then eat your own handiwork.
By the way, it's all free, so I better see you there. We'll be at three different locations, ISR, FAR, and Snyder, so you
don't really have excuses. Tuesday 3/11- ISR at 6:30pm Tuesday 3/11- FAR at 8:30pm Wednesday 3/12- SNYDER at 7pm
Housing Food Forum 3/4 - ISR Townsend A @ 6:30
So you guys have been eating at the dorms for at least one semester now. You don't need me to tell you that you've probably
went through all the food that you'll be eating for the entire time you live in the res halls. It doesn't have to be that
way though.
Come to AASHO's Asian American Food Forum this tuesday and toss out your complaints regarding the Asian American food
selection in the res halls. Come vent about what you lack or about what you want to see some improvement on. Your caring AASHO
officers are here to help make everything better. Or at least we'll try our best.
Semi-Annual Mahjong Night: 2/24 - ISR Townsend A @ 8
If you enjoyed mahjong night last time, well, we're back. If you missed out, shame on you, but we're nice and you can join
us this time. Again we'll not only have mahjong, but lots of other games as well. And food, we'll have food.
Ramen Eating Contest!!! 1/30 - ISR Wardall Lounge @ 9:30PM
Join us for our first edutainment event of the new semester. Learn about the origins and culture of ramen. Or just bring your
friends and watch them gorge themselves till they can't walk. But please, leave the room if you're going to throw up... I
lose my appetite quickly -__- But more importantly, learn about ramen history and other interesting tidbits.
Bubble Tea Night: 10/16 - ISR Townsend B @ 8PM
Yet again AASHO presents more free food, all from the kindness of our hearts :p this time, join us for bubble tea Tuesday
night at 8, in the Townsend B lounge at ISR.
1st Area Meeting: 10-11 - 7:30PM @ PAR Carr Conference Lounge
Come to our first area meeting at PAR to learn about AASHO, meet new people, and find out how to get involved in the residential
halls as well as important issues we may require your involvement in! As always, there're free snacks
